a simple halloween

Somehow another year has gone by without making any major plans for Halloween. In the past, we were stuck at home or in the studio working on school projects... I'm not kidding. This year I'm actually excited to be cozy at home. We'll be burning a fire, baking gluten free pumpkin cookies and watching a couple movies. I'm not one for horror films, so we've opted for The Giant Mechanical Man and Where the Wild Things Are. I was also thinking of making our own pumpkin spice lattes. Has anybody found a recipe they like? If so, please share :-)

  1. You're night sounds perfectly planned, Becka and Nathan! We don't celebrate Halloween over here so I too will be cozy in my own home :) possibly baking something pumpkin related too! I've been trying to find a good pumpkin spice latte but still haven't! I'll let you know if I come across one. Love that Essie color for Fall :) and the blanket looks perfect for movie night!

  2. Great Halloween picks! I love Halloween—we just hosted a Halloween party this past weekend and it was a blast :) Hot drinks are a definite at this time of year, as well as sweet treats! I've never seen The Giant Mechanical Man before, but I really like Jenna Fischer, so I think I will rent it!

  3. So great, you guys! These past few years I've also soooo enjoyed a nice, quiet Halloween night full of good food, and scary movies - it's really the best, isn't it?! GF pumpkin cookies sounds so perfect - maybe I'll also look for a recipe! :)

  4. Mm, this sounds cozy! This is the first year in awhile that I'm not dressing up or going to a party.. I'll be spending my evening cozying up with my husband as well. Have you checked out A Beautiful Mess' pumpkin spice syrup? I bought the ingredients for it, but haven't gotten around to making it yet. Maybe I'll do that this week!

  7. My friends hosted a Halloween party this past weekend, but as for Halloween day we have nothing planned. A night in sounds absolutely delightful and just what we need. I like scary movies but not at night time. I am such a baby! I have never seen either of the movies above so maybe we'll check those out!

    1. Happy Halloween! It seems like a lot of people did their celebrating early this year.

Oh and don't worry, I'm an even bigger baby since I can't watch them at all!
