saturday morning is for brunch

Okay picture this. It's Saturday, you wake up after a long exhausting week and you're looking forward to a lazy morning, but you're out of coffee! Well that's what happened to us last weekend. Obviously the only solution was to go on the hunt for a new brunch spot. So that's just what we did, and we were thrilled to find a charming little restaurant on Portland's east side called Block's.

"Block's is a family owned neighborhood spot featuring a scratch kitchen serving fresh, home-style breakfast, lunch and pastries"

The space inside was lovely. From the eclectic gallery wall to the outdoor signage and design of the menu, you can tell the owners have considered every detail. We ordered the Pastrami Hash and the Gluten Free Yogurt Pancakes (no food is pictured... because we were too busy eating it).

We're looking forward to a summer brunch in the courtyard!

  2. Yes! That's what Saturdays are supposed to be about, not about for shopping groceries and cleaning up the house...

  8. The relaxed environment was one of our favorite things about it. It's definitely a place where you could lose your track of time (sipping down multiple post meal coffee's)
